The building is a two-story stressed concrete structure featuring a very low pitched gable roof installed over the original flat roof structure. It has a concrete foundation and it has stucco walls with stone on the storefront facade. It also features a wooden street level canopy with transom windows above.
Historical InformationGustave Messerschmidt constructed this building in 1914 as his new bakery. He was listed as a baker in Juneau as early as 1903. The structure has been operated as a bakery since 1914.
