Short-Term Rental Task Force

In December of 2024 the CBJ Assembly formed a short-term rental task force. A short-term rental is typically defined as a residential housing unit that is rented out for less than 30 days but is not a hotel – think AirBnB or VRBO. The task force has four charges, the final one being to create a matrix that evaluates and recommends various regulatory actions for STRs to improve housing availability in Juneau. The task force had its first meeting in January, 2025, and is expected to take about 5 months to complete.
