Lands & Resources
Mission Statement: To develop, manage, and conserve City land and resources consistent with public policy.
In September of 1983, the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) amended its Administrative Code to state that “real property management, including acquisition and disposal,” be included as one of its responsibilities. The Lands and Resources Division is the product of this administrative responsibility, and oversees roughly 15,000 acres of CBJ property while implementing Title 53, CBJ’s Land Management Code. Also important to note is the 1983 Ordinance that established the policies and procedures for the classification, management, and disposal of City and Borough land.
