The one-story, wood frame building measures 35' x 98'. It has a wood piling foundation, a wood frame storefront, a sidewalk canopy and a flat roof. The front has high plate glass windows. In the early 1980s, the owner added diagonal siding. A metal awning extends from the roof over the canopy and obscures all the front facade detailing.
Historical InformationOriginally a saloon and parlor house constructed during the Klondike Gold Rush. The building is situated in Juneau's old red light district. It was known as the New York Exchange from 1914 to 1918. During the prohibition years, the saloon dispensed soft drinks. The structure has housed various saloons since construction.
