Community Development Department improving permitting services for Citizens

New 100% online system available 24/7 for customers starting in January for inspections, permits, & payments

CBJ Community Development Department is streamlining services for Citizens. Beginning in January 2026, a Civic Access portal will feature a new design and enhanced functionality. Citizens can apply and pay for permits online at any time of day, replacing in-person visits during business hours at the Permit Center Hub (PCH).

On Friday, December 19, 2025, the PCH will be shutting down online application links and not be able to accept any new applications in preparation for the upgrade. Any applications sent to [email protected]. after this date will not be processed or retained. After the transition is complete, customers will be directed to create a new account on our Civic Access portal.

Beginning Monday, January 12, all CDD, GE and Fire permits for both residential and commercial permit applications will be able to be submitted online. As we continue making improvements, expect to see commercial and land use permits available for online submission.

Due to an increase in volume, Nonconforming Certification Reviews currently take 5-6 weeks to complete.
