JPD Organizational Chart
When fully staffed the Juneau Police Department is comprised of 97 employees; with 57 commissioned officers and 40 civilian personnel. At 57 officers, JPD is the second largest municipal police department in the State of Alaska. To provide police service for the City and Borough of Juneau the Department is organized into functional work units as depicted in the staffing organization chart. The staffing and responsibilities of each organizational unit are as follows:
Chief of Police – Is responsible for the overall direction and operation of the Department.
Deputy Chief of Police – Reporting directly to the Chief, the Deputy Chief is responsible for administrative oversight of Operations. The Deputy Chief is responsible for the overall direction and operation of the Department when the Chief is absent from the City and Borough.
