The Juneau Police Department provides a courtesy vacation watch service to residents of the City and Borough of Juneau. When you are away from home for an extended period of time, you can request a vacation watch. When your home is listed with the Juneau Police for a vacation watch, patrol officers and/or community service officers will attempt to periodically stop and check on your home.  Their ability to do this will be dependant on other calls for service.  Officers may walk around your home to see if there has been any forced entry or damage.  Although this is not a guarantee that your home will not be damaged or burglarized, it gives you some added protection.  We encourage you to make arrangements with a family member, friend or neighbor to also check on your home.
