Additional Information
This is a two-story, wood frame structure with moderate pitch cross gabled roof form. It has a concrete foundation and is sided with wood shingles. There is an enclosed one-story shed roof appendage and a shed roof car port. It has been remodeled since the 1988 survey with Queen Ann detailing added as seen in the gable rake tracery.
Historical InformationLouis L. Williams, a Missouri lawyer, came to Juneau in 1886 as the U.S. Commissioner under Judge Lafayette Dawson. Williams built the two houses on Lot 4 in 1897. Owners of the houses on Lot 4 include Peter Carlson, William Livie and Charles Sey, all miners employed by the Alaska Juneau Gold Mining Company.
