The wood frame house measures 30?x 33? and is two-and-one-half stories. It has a steeply pitched front gabled roof with two large shed dormers. It has a timber foundation and is sided with horizontal wood channel lap siding with vertical corner boards. The second story and attic floors have double hung windows. The gable front has a roof edge return which gives a pediment appearance. Other features include a hip roofed full width front porch of which 2/3 has been enclosed with large panes of glass. The plain porch columns are indicative of the Folk- National style.
Historical InformationOriginally built on the present Capital School site in 1910, the house was moved to its present location in 1927. Reportedly constructed for Martin George, chief draftsman for surveyor general?s office. George was the father of Wallis George, one of the builders of the Baranof Hotel. The house was bought and moved by the Davis family in 1927.
