It is a flat-roofed two story building that measures 50' x 40'. The first floor has storefront windows with clerestory windows above the canopy, and the second floor has double hung windows. Built after the period of significance, this building is similar in terms of massing, character, and materials. The building site was originally the location of the Korkornen (Korhonen) Rooming House, a 41'x45', two-story, wood frame structure, built on pilings, and attached to the back of the Filipino Hall. Building meets Juneau Design Standards, however, it was built after the period of significance.
Historical InformationThe Korkornen Rooming house served Juneau miners, bachelors and people whose homes were under construction. The rooming house was attached to Anna Goldstein's store, and later became the Filipino Hall.
