General Description

The original two-story wood frame building measured 31' x 108'. It had a concrete and wood piling foundation, a flat roof, and a sidewalk canopy. The first floor had storefront windows and wood horizontal shiplap siding, and the second floor had double hung windows and vertical wood siding. The building was demolished in 2006 and a new building constructed in 2007.

Historical Information

March 16, 1916, the Scandinavian Grocery moved into its new quarters on S. Franklin Street, across the street from its original location. Captain J.H. Randle was the proprietor. In the 1930s, the Swanson Brothers Grocery operated in this location.
