The building measures 31? x 40? and is two-and-one-half stories. It has a partial concrete basement. Originally sided with horizontal wood lap siding replaced with horizontal vinyl siding. It is a wood frame structure with gambrel roof form and flared eaves intersected by a gable roof form at back. Features large shed dormer and gable front enclosed entry porch at front. Other features include a palladian style window at the entry porch, and double hung windows on all stories. There is a pedimented entry enclosure and shed canopys over entry doors. porch and round top windows on the front and side elevations.
Historical InformationLocated adjacent to the Behrends House on Fifth and Main Streets, this house was constructed for Jack Mullen, local businessman and son-in-law of B.M. Behrends. Mullen later became president of the B.M. Behrends Bank and was the first president of the Alaska Bankers Association.
