General Description

The one-story reinforced concrete building measures 30' x 50'. It has a concrete foundation and a flat roof. Transom windows are located above the sidewalk canopy. Storefront windows and rock facing on walls were added in the 1960s. The wall cornice has cast chevron decorations.

Historical Information

One of a number of buildings constructed by Ernest Jaeger, Juneau Businessman and entrepreneur. He built this one and the one next door at approximately the same time. He also built the Alaska Steam Laundry, Graves Building, Gastineau Hotel and houses up on Starr Hill (Kennedy Street Mine Workers Houses).
