Parks and Rec Projects
Jackie Renninger Park Master Plan
Budget: $75,000
Contractor: Corvus Design
Estimated Completion: 11/30/2024
Project Overview
The Parks and Recreation Department is beginning a public outreach process to understand how the community currently uses Jackie Renninger Park and surrounding park land and if any improvements are desired or could be made to encourage more use of the park land. The Pipeline Skate Park within Jackie Renninger Park is currently in need of several structural and safety improvements, and Parks & Recreation is taking this opportunity to explore what additional features could help the park meet the needs of local residents.
The Assembly appropriated funding for the development of a plan for the park area. Additional funding would be needed for implementation of the plan. Staff will work with the community throughout the process and research grant opportunities for future funding.
Update May 23, 2024
Corvus Design presented the results of last year's community survey about the park and a Neighborhood Park Assessment at the public meeting held on May 21, 2024. They also asked for public input by having the attendees design their ideal park using a large site plan and scaled cut-outs of essential park elements. A second similar meeting tailored to youth was held on May 22, 2024.
Update June 25, 2024
Corvus Design presented multiple conceptual plans for the park at the public meeting on June 24, 2024. The concepts for both the overall park and the skate park can be found in the Associated Documents section below.
