Youth Scholarship Program

The Youth Scholarship Program is designed to provide supplemental financial assistance to youth that may not otherwise be able to participate in youth activities. The program is intended to be a resource after other available sources of funding have been utilized.

Eligibility

Youth up to 18 years of age and/or through high school are eligible for scholarships. For programs serving disabled youth scholarships are available for youth no older than 20 years of age. The maximum funding level per child is $300 per child for camp activities and $100 for organized sports activities (i.e. team registration fees). Scholarships are awarded based on a sliding scale. All information submitted as part of the application is confidential and will be used only to determine the level of scholarship awarded.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, we have broadened the scope of what scholarship funds will pay for. In addition to activity scholarships, if your child is in need of supplies (outdoor wear, clothing, technology, etc.) to engage in healthy activities, please attach a brief explanation to your application form.

Scholarships may be used for registration or program fees for activities other than Parks & Recreation programs, but certain guidelines apply for all activities. Scholarship forms will only be accepted during the program’s registration period. Please see the application form for more information, or contact Amanda Lovejoy at 586-5226 x4156.
