Registration for Youth Indoor Soccer Now Open

Registration for Parks & Recreation’s Youth Indoor Soccer (ages 5 to 14) is now open. Early bird registration runs through August 24 and costs $55. Starting August 25, registration costs increase to $65. Register online (look under “Youth & Teen”) starting August 11 at 8 a.m. Scholarships are available: complete the online form to apply. The season runs from October through mid-December. Generally, kids will practice one night a week, Monday through Friday between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Games will take place on Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. There will be coed and girls divisions for youth ages 5-10 and coed only for ages 11-14. Younger divisions (by age and/or location) may be combined if numbers are low. Kids must turn 5 years old by November 1, 2025, in order to play. Parks & Recreation will not accommodate coach requests. For more information, contact Recreation Coordinator Amanda Lovejoy at [email protected] or (907) 586-2635 ext. 4156.

Registration for Start Smart Soccer opens June 23

Registration for Juneau Parks & Recreation’s Start Smart Soccer program opens Monday, June 23 at 12 p.m. You can register online here. Designed for ages 3–4, this six-week program runs from mid-July through August and costs $40 plus tax, which includes a Start Smart tee. Scholarships are available. This year, families can choose from two sessions—one downtown and one in the Valley: Downtown: Thursdays, July 17–Aug. 21, 5:30–6:30 p.m. at the JDHS turf, Valley: Saturdays, July 19–Aug. 23, 10–11 a.m. at the TMMS turf. Each session is limited to 25 participants and registration is first come, first served. To ensure more kids can participate, please register for only one session. Start Smart Soccer gives young children the chance to build basic soccer skills—like kicking, dribbling, and agility—in a supportive environment with the help of an actively participating adult. Learn more about the program here.
