We're Hiring | Adult Recreation Supervisor

If you enjoy managing sports programs and working in a fast-paced environment, we are looking for an Adult Recreation Supervisor to lead quality recreation experiences for Juneau residents! You'll plan, oversee, and help expand adult and senior recreation programs, manage multiple gymnasiums and fields, issue permits, and work closely with local sports organizations. Dimond Park Field House Summer Hours

Public track time and Turf for Tots are open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During summer camp weeks, hours will be reduced to 9 a.m. to noon: May 26 - 29, June 16 - 18, July 6 - 10, July 27 - 31. 

As a reminder, the Field House is closed on holidays.

Free Field House Day | July 15

As a part of Month of Play, enjoy the Field House events for free on Wednesday, July 15! Turf for Tots will be from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. for kids ages 0-6 and their parent or guardian. Open turf will be held from 3 - 5 p.m., and open track will be held from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 3 - 5 p.m. Youth under the age of 10 must be supervised by an accompanying adult. Stop by to earn tickets for the Month of Play prize drawing!

Various Parks & Rec Fees Increase on July 1, 2026

Starting July 1, 2026, fees across a variety of Parks & Recreation services and programs will increase to reflect increased operational expenses and decreased city general funding. The upcoming fee changes were adopted during the fiscal year 2027 municipal budget process. The last significant increase to Parks & Recreation fees was in 2021.

Preschool Open Gym will be moved to Marie Drake and will reopen to the public after Labor Day. 

Elevator construction at Dimond Park Field House

During the summer of 2025, the Dimond Park Field House began a major upgrade with the installation of a new elevator. Construction of the elevator has been completed; however, final integration with the building’s fire alarm system has delayed its opening. The anticipated completion date is late summer 2026.
