Spring Break and Summer Camps

The Zach Gordon Youth Center offers day camps for youth ages 7-11 during the week of spring break and throughout the summer. Camps are filled with a variety of engaging activities and scholarships are always available!

Summer Camps 2021

We’re excited to announce our 2021 Summer Camps!

This year camps will meet in parks around Juneau to adapt to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

  • Fishing & Field Games Camps
    Welcome to a week of fishing and yard games, We’ll see what what kind of fish can pull out of Twin Lakes, Youth will enjoy fun team building games and classic yard games. Fishing poles will be provided. This camp will meet at the playground end of Twin Lakes Park. $100 + Tax
    Sessions: May 24-28th , 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM & August 2-6th , 1 PM – 4:30 PM
  • Happy Hikers Camps
    What’s better than exploring some of the most beautiful and scenic hiking trails that Juneau has to offer? Bringing your best riddles a jokes! We explore the trails of Basin Road while solving riddles and making corny jokes. This camp will meet in front of the Perseverance Trailhead on Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday. Wednesday, we will meet at the Mt. Roberts Trailhead $142.50 +Tax
    Sessions: June 1st-4th, 9 AM – 3:30 PM & July 6-9th, 9 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Summer Olympics Camps
    Welcome to Summer Olympics! This week will be full of cool and silly races, competitions, and challenges that will have your child laughing and giggling their way to the finish line! We will spend each day outdoors at Dimond Park and some days at the Dimond Park Aquatic Center. $100 + Tax
    Sessions: June 7th-11th, 9 AM – 12:30 PM & June 21st-25th, 9 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Beach Camps
    What could be more fun than than a week at the beach! Spend a week building sand castles, examining the intertidal zone, and exploring the Treadwell Mine ruins. This camp will meet at the near the restrooms at Savikko Park (AKA Sandy Beach). $100 + Tax
    Sessions: June 14th-18th, 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM & July 26-30th, 1 PM – 4:30 PM
  • Pee Wee Camp
    Join us for lots of art, loads of fun, and tons of play! This week we invite 5 & 6 year olds to come and explore fun with the arts! In this camp, campers will do lots of painting, drawing, coloring, craft projects, and play fun games. This camp is mostly ZGYC local taking place in our kid friendly classroom. Campers can also expect to spend a little bit of each day outside in our wonderful toddler area, garden, and covered outdoor basketball court! Campers may also explore in mini walking fieldtrips. This camp will meet at the Zach Gordon Youth Center. $100 + Tax
    Session: July 12-16, 9 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Arts in the Parks
    This camp is all about ART! Your painting and drawing skills will be put to good use this week. You will be busy with slime making, painting, woodwork crafts, finger painting, chalk art, food art and so much more. Come and enjoy amazing fun with art inspired by our downtown parks!This camp will meet at the Zach Gordon Youth Center. $100 + Tax
    Session: June 28th-July 2nd 9 AM -12:30PM
  • Garden to Table
    This camp will learn about gardening with a Master Gardener at the Zach Gordon Gardens, explore and harvest food from local parks, and cook amazing dishes with the foods we grow and harvest!. This camp will meet at the Zach Gordon Youth Center. $100 + Tax
    Session: July 19th-23nd 9 AM -12:30PM

Spring Break Camp 2021

Join us for 2 days of exploring trails and Juneau’s Parks & Recreation activities at Savikko Park or Dimond Park and surrounding areas!

Hiking, scavenger hunts, bonfire, and games!

Ages 7-11. $80.00 registration fee. Covid mitigations are in place and masks are required. Space is limited! Click the image to register.
