Join us and explore the wonderful world of Juneau Parks & Recreation during Spring Break Camp at Zach Gordon Youth Center. Explore Juneau Parks & Recreation opportunities including swimming, ice skating, Live Action Role Playing, climbing, arts & crafts, games and hiking!

2026 Summer Camps
Get ready for a summer of fun with Parks & Recreation Summer Camps! Explore, play, create and so much more during 4- and 5-day camps at Zach Gordon Youth Center, Treadwell Arena, and Dimond Park Field House and Aquatic Center. The fun is endless!
Registration opens at noon on April 1 for all camps. Please note the varying times, locations, ages, and cost for each camp.

Camps for Kids Ages 5-6 Years Old
Pee Wee Art Camp
Paint, glue, create, and smile! Pee Wee Art camp invites your child to explore art through playful projects designed for little hands and big imaginations. We strive to include the outdoors into our art projects and make sure to get our wiggles out and visit a few of our local parks during our time together.

Pirates & Mermaids Camp
Ahoy, mateys and mer-friends! Prepare to set sail for a week of ocean magic and seaside adventure at Treadwell Arena’s Pirates & Mermaids Camp. Campers will dive into imaginative play and explore the wonders of Sandy Beach and Treadwell Mine Historic Trail in search of long-lost treasure. They will also be creating a special ocean-themed craft to take home as a keepsake from their seaside adventure.

Camps for Kids Ages 7-11 Years Old
Rainforest Hikers
Get outside for a full day of hiking on some of Juneau’s most beautiful trails! This camp focuses on exploring trails, discovering nature, and building confidence – one step at a time! Our goal is to promote curiosity, develop leadership skills, and a lifelong love for the outdoors in a safe and supportive environment.

Real World DnD
Step into a world of adventure at the ZGYC Real World DND Camp where imagination leads the way! Campers will create characters, practice storytelling, and make their own foam weapons and costumes. If your child enjoys guided gameplay and has a passion for all creative things, this camp is for them.

Eco Explorers
From trees to tidepools and rocky shores the ZGYC will be taking youth on guided hikes and walks to learn about our local wildlife, ecosystems, and plants! There will be games engaging activities to spark curiosity and environmental awareness.

Art Outside
An art camp blended with time spent outside! The Zach Gordon Youth Center invites youth to create art inspired by the beautiful hues and textures that surround us through mixed media, natural materials and more!

Community Stewardship Camp
The Zach Gordon Youth Center invites your child to discover the joy of giving back to their community. Campers will meet and volunteer with a variety of local community partners in the form of service projects and in person volunteering. This camp aims to teach empathy, teamwork, responsibility, and confidence.

Gather & Harvest
At Gather and Harvest Camp, campers will connect with nature through mindful harvesting of local plants and traditional herbs. Guided activities will teach how to safely and respectfully harvest while learning the history of the area and traditional uses for what we gather.

Float It! Build It! Camp
Build, create, and set sail! In this hands on building camp, campers will be introduced to basic woodworking and construction skills as they build and paint their own wooden toolbox to take home. Using creativity and teamwork, campers will also design and construct cardboard boats and structures while learning what makes them strong and float-worthy. The week ends with an exciting Boat Regatta, where campers test their creations in a fun and celebratory race. No experience needed! Just imagination and a love for building!

Splash!
Splash into summer with the ZGYC! This camp is full of fun and designed to keep your youth active this summer. We will be visiting the pools and the beach where campers will have the opportunity to build new friendships, play, and foster their love of swimming.

Camera Speaks
This camp will teach youth to learn about digital cameras, digital camera techniques while doing a photovoice project of their choosing. This camp will end with an art show for families and prints of their photographs to take with them!

Dimond Park Adventure Camps
At Dimond Park Adventure Camp, join us to swim and play water games at Dimond Park Aquatic Center, move at Dimond Park Field House, explore your mind and space at Mendenhall Valley Public Library, and investigate surrounding trails, all in one camp!

Soar & Explore Camp
Get ready for a week of big Alaska adventures! Soar & Explore Camp is designed for curious explorers who love being outdoors and trying new things. Campers will ride the Goldbelt Tram for sky-high views, hike and explore the trails at Eaglecrest, and venture out to different places in Juneau and Douglas. To balance out our outdoor adventures, campers will also enjoy a fun day at the pool to relax, play, and cool off. This camp focuses on exploration, teamwork, and building confidence while experiencing some of Juneau’s most iconic locations. Campers should come ready for walking, light hiking, and plenty of fresh air as they make new friends and create unforgettable summer memories.

Pottery Camp for Youth 10-13
The ZGYC Pottery Camp introduces youth to the fundamentals of ceramics through age-appropriate projects. Campers will learn clay preparation, hand-building, wheel throwing, glazing, kiln firing, all while expressing their artistic ideas. Each camper will leave camp at the end of the week with a finished ceramic piece and a deeper understanding of pottery!
