Please note the varying times, locations, and ages each camp. Dimond Park Adventure Camp takes place at Dimond Park in the Valley. All other camps are at Zach Gordon Youth Center.

Rainforest Hikers

What’s better than exploring the most beautiful and scenic hiking trails that Juneau has to offer? Get ready to explore Juneau’s beaches and trails during the Rainforest Hikers Camp! Hikes may include East Glacier, Point Bridget, Rainforest Trail, Boy Scout Beach, Treadwell Mine, and the Point Bishop Dupont Trail. Please wear comfortable shoes and get ready for a week of adventure! This is an all-day 4 day camp; please provide your child with a lunch and plenty of water!

Date: May 27 – May 30 (4-day camp)

Real World DnD

Does your child enjoy fantasy video games, movies, or Dungeons & Dragons? Do they wish they could play these characters and stories in real life? Well, at Real World DnD Camp, now they can! Campers will create their own characters, craft armor, and follow a week-long storyline filled with clue hunting, side quests, battles, plot twists, and most importantly, teamwork.

Date: June 2 – June 6
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Pee Wee Art Camp 

Join us for lots of art, loads of fun, and tons of play! This week we invite 5 & 6 year olds to come and explore the arts! In this camp, campers will paint, draw, color, craft, and play fun games. This camp is mostly based out of the ZGYC, but campers can expect to spend a little bit of each day outside in our wonderful toddler area, garden, and covered outdoor basketball court. Campers may also explore with mini walking field trips!

At Camp rec we will be visiting our local parks, fields, and courts! If your youth enjoys playing games like kickball, pickleball, volleyball, frisbee golf, tennis, capture the flag, tag, and more, consider signing them up for CAMP Rec! We will be joined by MJ from Youth Sports and campers will work on learning and practicing some classic games with a focus on active play and friendly competition.

Want your child to strengthen their skills in the outdoors while learning the principles of Leave No Trace Ethics? If so, then sign up for Eco Explorers Camp where we learn skills like shelter building, plant identification, compass navigation, minimizing outdoor impacts, environmental sustainability, and so much more in the great outdoors!

Date: June 30 – July 3
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Splash!

Splash is an exciting, water-themed summer camp geared toward youth who like swimming, wading, and all things water. Campers can expect multiple pool days at either Diamond Park, or Augustus Brown swimming pool as well as water games at some of our local beaches. At Splash Camp we encourage our campers to feel confident in the water, while sharing an opportunity to meet new friends and have a lot of fun.

Art Outside 

Art Outside will highlight the vibrant scenery of Juneau where creativity meets nature. We will explore a variety of outdoor mediums including painting, drawing, and nature inspired crafts. With the natural environment as their inspiration, kids will expect to create their own unique art pieces to take home with them. Art outside is the perfect place for youth to express themselves, make friends, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.

Community stewardship camp is an engaging hands-on summer camp designed for youth ages 7-11 to learn how to care about their environment and make a positive impact on their community. Guided by enthusiastic instructors we will explore opportunities to volunteer around town, meet some community members who will share how they help and work in our community, and become responsible stewards ourselves!

Date: July 28 – August 1
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Gather & Harvest

In this camp, we will learn how to gather some of the beauty of Alaska through harvesting and processing nature’s bounty! Each day we will learn about the fundamentals of gathering and harvesting, explore the outdoors, and have a blast getting to know the luxury of foraging in the Southeast.

At Dimond Park Adventure Camp, join us to swim and play water games at Dimond Park Aquatic Center, move at Dimond Park Field House, explore your mind and space at Mendenhall Valley Public Library, and investigate surrounding trails, all in one camp!

Parents, please note the different drop-off and pick-up locations for each session.
