BAM Afterschool Activities
At BAM Afterschool Activities, we believe all youth deserve free & fun afterschool activities led by positive, healthy mentors. We are a program of the Zach Gordon Youth Center in collaboration with the Juneau School District, community partners, and volunteers to provide free afterschool activities for Juneau middle school students.
Dzantik’i Heeni Middle School
Night Hiking and Games
Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 7th-February 25th. 3:30-5pm at DHMS. Just because the sun sets early doesn’t mean we can’t have fun outside! Come explore the trails around Dzantik’i Heeni Middle School and play socially distant night games with friends and BAM staff. A headlamp (and occasional hot cocoa) will be provided.
Wednesdays, January 13th-February 17th. 12:30-2pm at the Zach Gordon Youth Center. During this activity, we will learn a bit about nutrition and cook lunch together on individual cook stations, outside. Any middle school student can register, regardless of the school they attend. Space is limited to allow for safe social distancing.
Wednesdays, 3:30-5pm in the Dzantik’i Heeni Commons. This is a safe social space for LGBTQ2S+ youth and allies to hang out, make art, play games and more. This activity is on-going and drop-in. Registration is not required.
