How far can you walk this summer?
What community can you walk, run, or hike to by September 1 without ever leaving Juneau? 104 miles to Skagway or maybe 297 miles to Ketchikan? The further you walk the more chances you have to win great prizes including a 1-night stay at the Amalga Cabin, cool swag from Trail Mix, Inc., great gear from Nugget Alaskan Outfitters, and up to 25k miles from Alaska Airlines!
Register by May 14
Register online through our new registration system; Walk Southeast can be found under ‘Special Events.’ It’s absolutely FREE to participate!
When logged into your account, look for ‘Email Preferences’ and check the box for ‘Courtesy Notices’ to receive your tracker and a few friendly reminders throughout the summer. We promise not to spam!
Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on May 14, 2021.
Join the Walk Southeast Facebook Group after you register to motivate each other, post cool pictures of your walks and hikes, and hear from all three communities throughout the summer.
Walk May 1 – Sep 1
Registered participants will receive a Mileage Tracker via email before May 1. If you happen to register later than that, don’t worry, you will get one at the time of registration.
Print or download the tracker and mark off the miles you walk, run or hike between May 1 – September 1 using the check boxes, the log, or both.
Submit by September 2
To be eligible for prizes and receive a Walk Southeast sticker, submit your final tracker here by September 2.

The more you walk the more chances you have to win in the local drawing that’s just for Juneau participants! Look for the orange stars on the Mileage Tracker.

More great prizes have been donated by Trail Mix, Inc. and Nugget Alaskan Outfitters. The drawing will take place on September 10 at Juneau Parks & Recreation. Need not be present to win. Winners will be notified by phone/email and announced on Facebook.

The blue stars on your Mileage Tracker correspond to these designated Pit Stops. When you reach these communities check-in here to earn a bonus ticket and increase your chances to win in the local drawing on September 10. You will need to upload your current tracker (or a picture of it) plus a fun selfie from a recent walk or hike. Get started by clicking one of the photos below.

Community Challenge!
Petersburg and Wrangell have accepted the challenge to see who can walk more miles this summer. Since our communities are vastly different by population, the bragging rights will go to the community that has the highest average of miles walked per participant. Get walking Juneau, we certainly can’t let them beat us at our own game!
The more miles walked, the more miles you could win!
Alaska Airlines is matching every mile walked from all the participants in JNU, WRG, and PSG, up to 25k miles, that will be given to one lucky participant in the drawing on September 10. To be entered into the Alaska Airlines drawing, you must: be registered for Walk Southeast, walk a minimum of 150 miles, submit your Mileage Tracker by September 2, and be a resident of Southeast Alaska. Each eligible participant will receive one ticket in this drawing.
