Fagerson, Floyd & Daisy (McGrew)
India Spartz, granddaughter
Floyd Fagerson was born to Gustav and Pauline Fagerson in Dyea, Alaska, in 1898. The family moved to Dawson until about 1903, when Pauline and young Floyd moved back to Arcadia, California. In 1919, Floyd returned to Alaska to work for his father, Gus. Floyd would return to California periodically for extended stays. During one of those stays he married Daisy McGrew (who later became Daisy Williams). They had a daughter, Mary Lou Fagerson.
In 1939, Floyd moved his wife and daughter to Alaska. He worked in the concrete manufacturing business his father owned (Concrete Manufacturing Products in Seward and Juneau) and later worked in the insurance business. He was an avid photographer and the family has a number of his images from the 1930?s-40?s of Juneau. He served as President of Igloo No. 6, Pioneers of Alaska and as Exalted Ruler of the BPO Elks No. 420.
Floyd died in 1951, in Camarillo, California, and is buried in Arcadia, California. His daughter Mary Lou F. Spartz still lives in Juneau as do her children.
