
Walk Southeast Group Hikes and Walks
Some communities are holding group hikes or walks throughout the summer. Check back often for updated information or join the Walk Southeast Facebook Group to stay in the know!
Group Hikes
Save the dates and join us for a group hike! Hikes are generally between 5-8 miles, always take place on a weekend, and they’ll start at 9:30 a.m. The locations will be determined about two weeks prior to each hike.

Walk to the Library!
Join Juneau Public Library, AARP and Parks & Recreation for a fun stroll to the library; we’ll visit a different one each month. These walks are great for all ages, take place on a weekday, and always includes snacks and a break at the library. Walks to the Library start at 10 a.m.
- May 4 | Downtown Library
- Meeting point: Overstreet Park
- 3 miles round trip along the Seawalk—it’s a ship-free morning!
- June 17 | UAS Egan Library
- Meeting Point: Goat Hill Road Trailhead
- 3 miles round trip on the Auke Lake Trail
- July 29 | Mendenhall Library
- Meeting Point: Clear Water Creek Trailhead on River Road
- 4 miles round trip on Brotherhood Bridge Trail
- August 21 | Douglas Library
- Meeting Point: Douglas Library
- 3-4 miles on Treadwell Mine Historic Trail
