Rules

• One entry per person
• Jack-o-lanterns can be made of pumpkins or any other gourd
• Decorated pumpkins, instead of carved, are acceptable
• Two photos are required. One of just the pumpkin, to be used for voting. One with the pumpkin and the carver to be posted if you win.
• Younger participants should work with parents/guardians. All participants should use caution when handling a knife or other sharp object.
• This contest is family friendly and for fun. No violence, profanity, illegal activities, or political messaging can be incorporated into your jack-o-lantern.
• Parks & Recreation, at it’s sole discretion, may disqualify and/or exclude any photos from the contest that it determines are inappropriate.

How to Win

Voting takes place on the Juneau Parks & Recreation’s Facebook page. Each day, beginning on October 26, photos from one of the age category will be posted to be voted on by the community. Voting will be open for 24 hours. On Friday, October 30, the winners from all four age categories will be announced.

To vote, simply like, love, or laugh for the photo(s) that you want to vote for. The photo with the most reactions will be declared the winner!

Winners earn bragging rights on their impressive carving abilities (plus a bag of Halloween treats)!
