Full Description

\"A Pop Up Museum is a temporary exhibit created by the people who participate. People are invited to bring an object on-topic to share, like a community show-and-tell. Each participant writes a label for his/her object and puts it on display. A Pop Up Museum lasts for a short time on one day, and focuses on bringing people together in conversation through stories, art, and objects.\" --Excerpted from the Santa Cruz Museum?s Pop Up Museum Organizer?s Kit.

The City Museum will host a Pop-Up Museum at the Douglas Library on Saturday, October 24th, from 3 to 4:30 pm, in conjunction with our satellite exhibit Ordinary Things/Extraordinary Tales. Community members of all ages are encouraged to bring an ordinary object that triggers for them an interesting story they can share. During the hour and a half, we will create a museum exhibit, enjoy visiting the display and reading each others stories, share refreshment and then take it all down and go home. We hope you will join us for this free and fun event.
