Full Description

Fabric Artists Ginger Blaisdell and Sheila Box, both members of the Capital City Quilters, will be in residence this morning, working on new creations and showing some finished work in conjunction with our quilt exhibit \"Outside My Window\". \"I love the creativity of deviating from a pattern, and mixing colors/textures makes me happy,\" says Ginger while Sheila states, \"The thing I enjoy most about quilting is the variety ? you can make a quilt that looks very much like one that?s 200 years old, or you can do a completely modern looking design. You can work alone, or do a group project with friends. You can work by hand, or on a machine. You can dye your own fabric, or use buttons, beads, threads and ribbon to embellish your design. Every single project can be completely different, and there is always more to learn.\"

Stop by and learn something from these two women during First Saturday at the City Museum.
