Fire inspections are an important part of an effective fire prevention program, however, fire prevention and safety starts with you–the Citizens of Alaska’s Capital City. This is why the Fire Marshal’s Office participates in public education opportunities such as school visits and through various community events.

Many of our efforts focus primarily on children. Our experience shows that when you reach out to the kids, it reaches the entire family—and ultimately raises the level of health and safety for all. So it is through educating the children that we work to promote a fire safe environment in the City & Borough of Juneau.
