Live or Work in Downtown Douglas/West Juneau?

The Downtown Douglas/West Juneau Steering Committee (DDWJSC) is looking for TWO new members to continue the work of this area plan.  Interested individuals must work or live in Downtown Douglas or West Juneau.  The Planning Commission will review applications and make appointments to the DDWJSC at its December or January meeting.

Empowered Board Vacancies & Seats Coming Due

APPLICATION DEADLINE DECEMBER 2, 2024  – Application Link 

Bartlett Regional Hospital Board:

  • 1 general public seat for an unexpired term beginning immediately and ending December 31, 2026

  • 2 general public seats & 1 public/physician seat, all for full-terms beginning January 1, 2025

Planning Commission:

  • 3 general public seats  for full-terms beginning January 1, 2025

Advanced interview questions are sent out to applicants ahead of scheduling a 10-minute interview with the full Assembly sitting as the Human Resources Committee, tentatively scheduled for the week of December 16.  Only those applicants who return their responses to the interview questions will be scheduled for an interview.

You are welcome to apply for a seat on a board/committee that you are interested in even if no vacancy on that board/committee is listed – your application will be on file for a year from date of submission.

Appointments to CBJ Boards are considered by the Assembly Human Resources Committee (HRC) at its monthly meeting held the same Monday as the Assembly meetings at 6:00p.m. (unless otherwise noted).  The HRC does not meet in October due to Assembly reorganization following the annual election.  Empowered Board appointments are made at separate meetings with the full Assembly sitting as the Human Resources Committee.
