Interested in Serving On the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee?

The City and Borough of Juneau is accepting applications for a seat on the Advisory Committee (AC) for the Comprehensive Plan Update project. The AC will be a sounding board for key decisions and policy recommendations for the Plan update, designed to capture the community’s vision, goals, and actions to guide Juneau’s long-term development and land use activities.

Members will attend public events and bi-monthly Committee meetings, either in-person or virtually, over the next two to three years. Members will act as champions of the Plan update in their community, organization, or area of expertise to help build community consensus.

Applications are due by March 2, 2025

We are currently taking applications for the following Empowered Boards with terms coming up in the end of June: Airport Board, Docks & Harbors Board and the Eaglecrest Board. The application period is open through Friday, May 30th.

You are welcome to apply for a seat on a board/committee that you are interested in even if no vacancy on that board/committee is listed – your application will be on file for a year from date of submission.

Appointments to CBJ Boards are considered by the Assembly Human Resources Committee (HRC) at its monthly meeting held the same Monday as the Assembly meetings at 6:00p.m. (unless otherwise noted).  The HRC does not meet in October due to Assembly reorganization following the annual election.  Empowered Board appointments are made at separate meetings with the full Assembly sitting as the Human Resources Committee.
