JCOA SUBMITS AGE-FRIENDLY COMMUNITY PLAN

The Juneau Commission on Aging partnered with the AARP Juneau Community Action Team to create an Age-Friendly Community Action Plan for Juneau. The CBJ Assembly approved joining the AARP Age-Friendly Network in late 2023. Our initial task was to develop a “Community Plan” based on assessment and prioritization of age-friendly domains for seniors.

We thank all of our contributors and Commissioners for their hard work, as well as CBJ’s Mayor Beth Weldon for her Letter of Support to the AARP Age-Friendly Network for our June submission of the attached plan to the AARP.

Please click on the link below to see the Plan submitted to AARP on June 18, 2025. We look forward to using this plan as a foundation to proactively represent Juneau senior’s needs and inform the CBJ Comprehensive Plan currently under development.
