Let us know when you reach Gustavus, Petersburg, and Yakutat by submitting a photo from a recent walk, run, or hike. Each one is worth an extra ticket in your local prize drawing.
This only applies to residents from Juneau, Ketchikan, Petersburg, and Sitka, but don’t let that stop you. We’d love to hear when you make it to one of these communities, too.

Local Prize Drawing
The number of tickets you earn for the local prize drawing all depends on what community you reach by September 1. The more you walk, the more chances you have to win!
How many miles do you have to walk?
- Echo Cove | 40 miles = 1 ticket
- Skagway | 104 miles = 2 tickets
- Kake | 131 miles = 3 tickets
- Sitka | 180 miles = 5 tickets
- Coffman Cove | 224 miles = 7 tickets
- Ketchikan | 297 miles = 10 tickets
These checkpoints are noted on the Paper Mileage Tracker with orange stars. If you are using the My Virtual Mission app presented by Goldbelt, you’ll receive a notification at every checkpoint.
