The fourth floor of the Downtown Transit Center (DTC) Parking Garage is closed due to extreme snow. Be aware that water seen coming into the garage from the third floor is from an overflow of snow melt caused by a plugged drain and the garage’s heated ramps.
All open floors of the DTC Parking Garage, along with the Marine Parking Garage, are available for free parking this week through Friday, January 9 at 4 p.m. The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) encourages drivers to move parked cars from the street into the parking garages to allow for efficient snow removal. Overnight parking is not available in the North Franklin lot, Shoppers lot and Whittier lot to also allow for snow removal.
CBJ offices and facilities will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 6. This closure includes the Dimond Park Aquatic Center, Dimond Park Field House, Treadwell Arena, Mt. Jumbo Gym, Floyd Dryden Gym, and Zach Gordon Youth Center.
Shéiyi Xaat Hít Youth Shelter will be open.

The Jensen-Olson Arboretum winter hours are Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors are invited to enjoy the beauty of Southeast Alaska as the Arboretum transforms into a seasonal winter wonderland.
Access within the Arboretum will be limited due to winter conditions. Visitors are asked to remain on cleared pathways only, as deep snow can make it difficult to identify the boundaries of garden beds. Guests should use caution both when traveling to the Arboretum and while on the grounds, as paths may be uneven, soft, hard-packed, or icy, particularly in exposed coastal areas. Please keep in mind there are no public restrooms at the JOA at this time.
