CBJ Facilities, Juneau Schools Closed on January 5
City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) facilities and Juneau School District (JSD) schools will be closed on Monday, January 5 due to a high-confidence forecast of very heavy snow during the day tomorrow, increasing existing road hazards. CBJ staff will continue to provide services remotely wherever possible.
The National Weather Service predicts very heavy snowfall (1 inch per hour) starting tomorrow midday and continuing through the afternoon. causing very limited visibility and hazardous road conditions during peak commuting hours.
CBJ encourages all residents to stay off the roads for their safety and the safety of others, and to allow snow removal teams to do their work as safely and efficiently as possible.

CBJ Facilities Closed – January 5:
- All Juneau Public Libraries locations and the Juneau Douglas City Museum.
- All Juneau Parks & Recreation facilities will be closed. This includes the Dimond Park Field House, Dimond Park Aquatic Center, Augustus G. Brown Pool, Treadwell Arena, the Zach Gordon Youth Center and all other recreation facilities. Shéiyi X̱aat Hit Youth Shelter remains open.
- City Hall, the CBJ Permit Center and all CBJ offices will be closed to the public but accessible by phone or email.
