WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a certified mechanic who is able to perform all tasks related to maintaining a fleet of approximately 50 automobiles. This includes the ability to work on both gas and diesel engines.

The mechanic will need to be able to attend ongoing training for certification through in-person and online training.

The ideal applicant will be a self-starter who can follow through with performing upkeep and repairs with little oversight. The mechanic must be able to properly manage a large volume of repairs, while keeping the JPD fleet in field-ready condition.

The ideal applicant will periodically be exposed to confidential or sensitive material and must be able to maintain strict confidentiality and integrity.

The JPD Mechanic II will be a valued member of our team and will be able to guide the future of our vehicle fleet. While the JPD Mechanic II will spend a considerable amount of time alone working on maintenance and repairs, the mechanic will have daily interactions with JPD staff and the public.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position works (Monday through Friday) 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Your workspace would be split between time spent at the Juneau Police Department in the Lemon Creek area, and some time spent at the Downtown Fire Station.
