Permit Center closing on Fridays starting October 22

The Community Development Department (CDD) will be closing the Permit Center to in-person services on Fridays starting October 22, 2021. CDD has determined this is the best way to address a high influx of permits, combined with staffing shortages, in order to process permits in a timely manner. Members of the public can still schedule inspections by phone. Inspections will continue to occur as scheduled.

For more information on permit applications and online submittals, please visit the CDD website at juneau.org/community-development/permit-application.

Permit Center staff will advise you when its processes return to “business as usual”.

For more information, contact the Community Development Department at 907-586-0715.

Final days to take Juneau Tourism Survey; deadline is this Friday

Have thoughts on Juneau’s visitor industry? Take the City and Borough of Juneau’s tourism survey at JuneauTourismSurvey.com now. The survey – which takes about 5 minutes to complete – is only open a few more days and will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 15.

CBJ contracted with McKinley Research Group (formerly McDowell Group) to conduct this online survey, which launched last month. The survey was recommended by CBJ’s Visitor Industry Task Force in the 2020 Visitor Industry Task Force Report.

Prior to launching the online survey, McKinley Research Group conducted a random sample phone survey. If you participated in the phone survey, your data has already been recorded; thank you for your participation.

Again, the online survey on Juneau’s visitor industry is available now at JuneauTourismSurvey.com. The deadline to complete it is 4 p.m. this Friday, October 15. Thank you to everyone who’s already completed it.

For more information, contact Project Manager Alexandra Pierce at 907-586-0753 ext. 4127 or [email protected].
