Application for Vending Permits at Elizabeth Peratrovich Plaza Open Through March 13

Three vending locations are available in the Elizabeth Peratrovich Plaza for the 2026 summer season. Individuals and businesses interested in being a commercial vendor should apply by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13 to the City and Borough of Juneau Parks & Recreation Department.

To apply for a vending permit in the Elizabeth Peratrovich Plaza, download the vending application and review the Request for Interest for complete application requirements, permit conditions, and evaluation criteria. Select “Marine Park” under “Permit Class” and email your completed application and operations plan to [email protected].

Due to construction of Marine Park through the 2026 summer season, vendor locations in Marine Park are temporarily relocated to the Elizabeth Peratrovich Plaza for the summer 2026 season. The Elizabeth Peratrovich Plaza is located on the backside of the Marine Parking Garage, adjacent to the Downtown Seawalk. Each vending location measures 10 feet by 10 feet, and the monthly permit fee is $1,250 plus tax.

Please note: The Elizabeth Peratrovich Plaza permit application does not include vending on downtown sidewalks or street vending. For those locations, please contact the Community Development Department’s Permit Center at 907-586-0770.

For more information about the Elizabeth Peratrovich Plaza vending permit application, contact CBJ Parks & Recreation Deputy Director Lauren Verrelli at [email protected] or 907-586-5226.

CBJ Shares Updates to Permit Inspection Requests

With the implementation of the City and Borough of Juneau’s new permitting software, the process for requesting inspections online has also changed. Inspections are completed through the new permitting software available through Civic Access

To request an inspection, customers first need to create a Civic Access account and email CBJ’s Permit Hub at [email protected] to link your account to any open permits you have.

Customers can still use the Inspection Requests hotline at (907) 586-1703 until April 31, 2026. Starting May 1, 2026, all inspection requests will need to be scheduled through your Civic Access account.

Last Chance to Participate in Juneau Futures Public Workshop and Online Survey

The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) is wrapping up the “Juneau Futures” phase of the Comprehensive Plan Update project this week. The final public workshop will be Friday, January 23, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, at the Generations Southeast Learning Center, 3239 Hospital Drive. The Online Open House and Survey, a digital version of the workshop, will close at the end of the day on Sunday, January 25.

At the end of January, CBJ will have hosted 10 Workshops, designed to explore where and how Juneau should focus development resources in the years ahead. In these hands-on, interactive experiences, participants step into the role of a City Planner, working in small teams to navigate real-world challenges, weigh trade-offs, and make strategic decisions about Juneau’s future – all with limited resources and an unpredictable mix of opportunities and obstacles.

Registration is required for the January 23 workshop. Please fill out the registration form or email [email protected] to sign up.

If you are unable to attend in person, the Online Open House and Survey provides an opportunity to weigh in on your priorities. The survey is open through Sunday, January 25.

These workshops and online survey are part of an ongoing project to update CBJ’s Comprehensive Plan, which will guide Juneau’s growth and development over the next 20 years. For more information on the Comprehensive Plan, upcoming events, and ways to stay involved, visit ourfuture.juneau.gov.

For questions, please contact Project Manager Minta Montalbo in the CBJ Community Development Department at (907) 586-0753 or [email protected].
