Background
Our fall series of “Juneau Futures” Workshops were so popular, we held another round in January! Despite Snowpocalypse 2026 shutting us down for nearly 2 weeks, we squeezed in 7 workshops, including events with the Chamber of Commerce, Alaska Native Leadership, and JDHS students, bringing our total to 14 workshops since November. We are working with UAS to survey their students, faculty and staff, and will be taking the workshop into classrooms this semester. Whew!
These hands-on activities are designed to put participants in the role of City Planner, exploring options for where and how Juneau should develop and make improvements. We also had an on Online Open House & Survey available, providing the public a digital opportunity to learn about different development areas and land use strategies and share priorities.
