Public Sessions

Open Skate

Treadwell Arena open skates are for all ages and abilities.

Doors open 15-minutes before ice time begins. Please only reserve space for individuals who will be ice skating. Guests are encouraged to bring their own skates and helmets, but skate rentals are available and included in admission. Drop-ins are $7 for 18+, $6 for under 18, and $5 for seniors. Skate aides are available during Open Skates for adaptive needs. Please check in at front desk upon arrival.

Stick N’ Puck

Hockey nets are on the ice and pucks are provided for Stick N’ Puck sessions. Full hockey gear required for players under 18 (HECC approved helmet & full face shield, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey gloves, hockey pants/breezers, shin guards, hockey skates).

Doors open 30-minutes before ice time begins. Maximum capacity is 30 skaters; 20 can reserve and pay online in advance, 10 spots are available for walk-ins. Drop-in fees are $8 for 18+, $7 for under 18, $6 for Seniors. Please check in at front desk upon arrival.

Pond Hockey

Pond hockey is a pick-up game with the players in attendance. Full hockey gear required for players under 18 (HECC approved helmet & full face shield, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey gloves, hockey pants/breezers, shin guards, hockey skates).

Doors open 30-minutes before ice time begins. Maximum capacity is 26 skaters; 20 can reserve and pay online in advance, 6 spots are available for walk-ins. Drop-in fees are $8 for 18+, $7 for under 18, $6 for Seniors. Please check in at front desk upon arrival.

Speed Skating

Speed skating clinics instructed by Michael Keye-Schuler and Andrew Dyke are every other Sunday at 2:45 p.m. Short track speed skates will be provided and are first come first served. Check the Treadwell Arena calendar to find the next scheduled session.

Skaters must be 12+ with intermediate skating skills: be able to skate comfortably without assistance and perform a snowplow stop.

Participants can register online in advance, or simply drop-in. Each session costs $15.75. Layered, warm and movable clothing, gloves, and helmets are required.

Family Skate

Treadwell Arena Family Skates are open to families of all ages and abilities. A limited number of skate aides are available at no additional charge.

Parent Tot

It’s all about having fun!

Lesson Info:

  • $15.75 registration fee
  • Includes lesson for 1 child (5 & under) plus 1 adult 
  • Skate rental & helmets are included and required on the ice
  • Skate aids will be available 
  • Lessons are geared toward never-ever and beginner skaters ages 5 & under
  • We practice the basics: falling down & getting up, marching, snowplow stops, and feeling comfortable on the ice 
  • No hockey sticks or pucks allowed

What to wear:

  • Warm movable clothing, hat, finger gloves & helmet (bike helmets are ok)
  • Hockey and figure skates are available. The smallest skate size is toddler 8 and the largest is adult 15 
  • Helmets are available for free

Freestyle

Freestyle ice is for figure skating practice.

Doors open 30-minutes before ice time begins. Maximum capacity on the ice is 30; 20 spots are available to reserve and pay online in advance; 10 spots are available for walk-ins. Drop in fees are $8 for 18+ $7 for under 18 and $6 for Seniors.  Please check in at front desk upon arrival.

Treadwell Arena offers many fun special events each season sponsored by local organizations or businesses. Information about individual events are posted on the homepage, Parks & Recreation’s website, and on Facebook as they are scheduled.
