Daily limit for residential household hazardous waste is 100 lbs.

July 8, 2021 – FYI

Community members are encouraged to bring batteries, televisions, used oil, fluorescent light tubes, paint, cleaners, and many other household hazardous waste items to the City and Borough of Juneau’s Household Hazardous Waste facility, located at 5600 Tonsgard Court. Residents have a 100 pound daily limit. See a full list of accepted hazardous waste materials here.

To stay within the daily limit, residents are encouraged to bring items to the facility more frequently, as opposed to stockpiling materials for great lengths of time. Please note: containers holding liquid cannot be returned, and bringing material in cardboard boxes allows for quicker offloading.

The Household Hazardous Waste facility is open every Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for residential use. Businesses can call 780-6691 and leave a message, or email CBJ contractor [email protected] to set up an appointment.
