Access on Eaglecrest Upper Mountain restricted through July due to construction

June 8, 2018 – FYI, News

Eaglecrest Ski Area is in the process of replacing Ptarmigan Top Ramp, and construction activities have started this week. Please pay attention to any signage advising users of trail closures.

Due to the dangers of construction activities during the demolition phase of the old ramp, all Nest facilities, including the bathrooms, will remain closed during active working hours. Access to the ridge trail will be restricted to the top of Black Bear during demolition. The Ptarmigan side of the ridge trail will remain closed.

During the construction phase of the ramp project, the contractors will be hauling large loads of rock from the Bottom of Easy Bowl to the new top ramp. This phase should take around three weeks. During this time, access beyond the bottom of Otter Slide will be prohibited during active working hours to eliminate the risk of injury to any Eaglecrest users. Construction work is scheduled to be complete around the end of July, at which point access to all parts of the mountain will return to normal.

Work crews will be posting signs while actively working to advise users of trail closures. Eaglecrest social media and its website will be updated weekly with construction updates on trail closures. Please heed all posted signage and stay clear of construction areas during non-construction hours.
