When you apply for CBJ Housing Assistance, make sure your application is complete
If you or your household has been financially harmed by the pandemic, you can still apply for the City and Borough of Juneau’s COVID-19 Housing Assistance Grant Program to receive funding for mortgage, rent, and utilities. Catholic Community Service, which is administering the program, is accepting applications through December 12. Find the application here. When you apply, make sure you complete the entire application and include required documentation. Up to 40 percent of the submitted applications are incomplete, which slows down the processing time. For incomplete applications, CCS is conducting follow-up correspondence by email and/or phone. If you’re contacted for follow-up information, you must reply or else your application cannot be processed.
CCS has received about 1,000 applications so far, and has processed about half of them. CCS is notifying applicants by email on whether their application is approved or not approved. Once an approval email is sent, the applicant can expect a check from CBJ within 2-3 weeks. Applicants whose financial hardship is not due to the COVID-19 pandemic are not eligible for funding.
