Update on Mendenhall River Community School principal search
The school district interviewed two principal candidates on Thursday, April 18 in open sessions at Mendenhall River Community School (MRCS). An interview panel of representatives from the school’s certificated staff and classified staff, district administration, parents and the Site Council, conducted the interviews. The panel then made a recommendation to Dr. Bridget Weiss, Superintendent of the Juneau School District.
Upon the committee’s recommendation, Dr. Weiss offered Mr. Nathan Coutsoubos the MRCS principal position. After much thought and consideration, Mr. Coutsoubos has declined. Considering the committee’s process and recommendation, the district has closed this phase of the process. The position was re-opened today to new candidates.
The school district will release updates as the process continues.
