Thane Road closure for avalanche hazard reduction Saturday, March 6, 9 a.m.-11 a.m.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) plans an emergency road closure for Thane Road on Saturday, March 6 from 9 am to 11 am. During the closure, DOT&PF will conduct avalanche hazard reduction (weather permitting) to allow AEL&P to make repairs on a damaged transmission line. An extended road closure may be necessary if avalanche debris reaches the roadway. More information here.
