Please move vehicles for downtown snow removal tonight, January 19

January 19, 2024 – FYI

The CBJ Streets & Fleets Maintenance Division will perform snow removal operations in downtown Juneau from 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, January 19 through 8 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, January 20.

Streets & Fleets requests assistance from drivers and vehicle owners in the downtown area to move vehicles in advance of this work. During snow removal, no parking will be allowed in the following streets:

  • Basin Road, from Eighth Street to Sixth Street
  • Eighth Street, from Basin Road to Gold Street
  • Gold Street, from Eighth Street to Fourth Street
  • Sixth Street, from Main Street to Gold Street
  • East Street, from Sixth Street to Fifth Street
  • Fifth Street, from Gold Street to East Street

See the above map for details.

Vehicles left on the street will impact operations and cause delays in the snow removal process. Any vehicles remaining in these designated areas after 8 p.m. tonight, January 19, will be towed to the Whittier Street parking lot in the Centennial Hall/Zach Gordon Youth Center complex. Please plan accordingly.

Snow blowing operations will start after cars are removed and the street is accessible for equipment.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation while this critical work is underway to keep streets and sidewalks clear.
