Learn how to apply for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) at October 13 meeting

The City and Borough of Juneau Community Development Department will host an informational public meeting via Zoom on Friday, October 13 at 3 p.m. to discuss how to apply for Community Development Block Grants.

Each year, CBJ is eligible to sponsor a local project for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Program, facilitated through the State of Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. CDBG competitive grants are single-purpose project grants with a maximum of $850,000 per community.

CBJ will review local applications and recommend one eligible project to the Assembly for approval to compete for state funding.

Learn about the program during an informational meeting on Friday, October 13 to discuss the application process to the State of Alaska CDBG program, the local competition, eligible projects, and timelines.

The FFY 2023 Local Competition Application can be found on the Community Development Department website.  Applications are due on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. AKDT. Completed applications can be emailed to Forrest Courtney at [email protected].

2021: AWARE retaining wall reconstruction
2011: AWARE design and construction of extended stay safe and sober shelter
2007: AWARE, Glory Hall, St. Vincent DePaul, Gastineau Human Services joint application for renovations and energy improvements to shelters
