Household Hazardous Waste facility has reopened in new location
The City and Borough of Juneau has reopened the Household Hazardous Waste facility at its new address – 5600 Tonsgard Court. It now shares the same location as the recycling center and landfill. Please watch for signage and staff directing people on a new traffic flow to access the various facilities.
Household Hazardous Waste is open to residential drop-off on:
- Friday 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The facility is open on Thursday to businesses by appointment only. Businesses can call 780-6691 to make an appointment between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The Household Hazardous Waste facility accepts batteries, TVs, used oil, fluorescent light tubes, paint, cleaners, and many other household hazardous waste items. See the full list here.
As a reminder, the recycling center is open Tuesday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
