Gastineau Avenue Landslide Update (10 AM 9/27)

As of 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 27, the immediate area surrounding the Gastineau Avenue landslide remains closed to the public. At this time, Public Works is unable to begin the process of clearing debris due to uncertainty regarding ground conditions.

Crews are on site and assessing the area. CBJ will issue an update to the public this afternoon with more information on efforts to restore vehicle access and power to the area.

We ask that the public continue to avoid the slide area. Residents impacted by the slide and in need of support services should contact Tom Mattice at (907) 209-9207.
