CDD now accepting applications for 2024 Human Services Transportation Grants
The CBJ Community Development Department has opened the application period for local projects seeking an Alaska Department of Transportation FY2024 Human Services Transportation Grant. Applications will be accepted through October 19.
The goal of these grants is to ensure that elderly persons and persons with disabilities gain access and mobility similar to the general population from the use of transit facilities and services. Communities set priorities and approve projects to proceed with a state grant application. In the FY2023 funding round, Southeast Alaska Independent Living (SAIL, Inc.) was awarded $191,000 for a replacement Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Taxi for the Accessible Taxi Program.
As part of the community priorities process, CBJ holds a competitive application round to ensure projects fit into the 2020 Juneau Coordinated Human Services Transportation Plan and coordinate with existing public transportation services and human services transportation options in the community.
Funding nomination forms are due by October 19, 2023 at 4 p.m. AKST. Return the forms to Scott Ciambor at [email protected].
