CBJ extends COVID-19 short-term rental assistance program through Dec. 31
Through the COVID-19 Short-Term Rental Assistance Program, the City and Borough of Juneau aims to assist households where a member has lost their job due to COVID-19 and are unable to meet rent. CBJ has extended the program through December 31, 2020, making funding from the federal CARES Act available to assist qualifying workforce housing renters.
Key components of the program include:
- A focus on households where a member has lost their job and are unable to meet rent;
- Income limits up to 120% of the area median income (AMI) to include workforce housing; and
- Program to cover rent only (no damages, down payment, utilities, late fees etc.)
This program developed in partnership with the Juneau Community Foundation, Gastineau Human Services, and Alaska Housing Development Corporation (AHDC), which manages the program.
