Apply now for up to $2,000 in COVID-19 Individual Assistance

December 8, 2020 – News

Individuals in Juneau that have been financially harmed by the pandemic can now apply for some relief through the COVID-19 Individual Assistance Grant Program. The Juneau Assembly recently appropriated $2 million of federal CARES Act funding to help qualifying individuals pay for basic needs like food, healthcare, transportation, utilities, and housing. Catholic Community Service is administering the program. Applications are available now at ccsak.org/cbjassist through December 18.

Please note: This is a new program that’s different from the COVID-19 Housing Assistance Grant Program, which is still open through December 12. Applicants to the Housing Assistance program may also be eligible for the Individual Assistance Grant Program and are encouraged to apply if they meet the qualifications.

The Individual Assistance Grant Program allows an individual to apply for up to $2,000 in assistance depending on income level. Individuals with children are eligible to receive additional grant funding. Funds will be distributed on a first come, first served basis until funding is exhausted.

It’s critical to answer all the questions and sign the application. Incomplete applications will be rejected. To qualify for COVID-19 Individual Assistance, you must:

  • Reside within the City and Borough of Juneau
  • Experienced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Currently have income at or under $58,900 per applicant
  • Need assistance paying for basic needs like food, healthcare, nondiscretionary transportation, utilities, and housing from March 1 through December 30, 2020

Find the application here, or pick one up at City Hall or any Juneau Public Library location.
