Katie Koester

Katie Koester, City Manager

Katie Koester began working as Juneau’s City Manager in September 2023.  She joined the City and Borough of Juneau in 2020, serving as the Director of the Public Works and Engineering Department, one of CBJ’s largest departments.  Prior to joining CBJ, Koester served as the City Manager of Homer, Alaska for five years.

She holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast along with a Master of Political Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Smith College.
