We have not received any new snows in the last week. Moisture models show very little precipitation in the forecast.

We have seen light winds.

Today will not see as much solar radiation or diurnal fluctuation.

Avalanche danger is LOW at this time.

Tip:

Spring is in the air. We lost 2 backcountry skiers/snowboarders to avalanches in Alaska this last week.

Please remember that spring conditions can be some of the trickiest of the year.

We have a lot of skiing and riding ahead of us this spring.

Please remind your partners...
Make Conservative Decisions...
Choose Safe Lines...
Minimize your exposure...
Ski/Board one at a time...
Spot your partner from areas of safety to areas of safety...
ALWAYS ride with a partner... and
ALWAYS Carry your Avalanche Transceiver, Probe, and Shovel.

Yet for the record that would not have prevented either fatality this week.

One riding alone... One deep burial with a solo partner that was unable to reach his partner...

More spotters and midsized groups can be better especially if you remember safe travel rules.

Be Safe! Rip it up! And live to play another day!!!
