CERTIFIED MUNICIPAL CANDIDATES

The filing period for the City and Borough of Juneau Assembly and Board of Education (School Board) was open from Friday, July 14, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. and closed on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. Candidates had until 4:30p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023 to withdraw their name or make changes to the way their name appears on the ballot. The name(s) of candidates who have withdrawn their candidacy have been removed from this finalized list. Candidates names are now listed below in the random order in which their name will appear on the ballot in accordance with CBJ Code 29.07.060.
Voters will elect two Areawide Assemblymember, one District 1 Assemblymember, one District 2 Assemblymember and two Board of Education (School Board) members at the October 3, 2023 Regular Municipal Election.
Only CERTIFIED CANDIDATES are listed below.
Please note: Voting in municipal elections is conducted on an areawide basis and voters may choose to vote for all races on the ballot. Assemblymembers and Board of Education members are elected areawide and serve areawide. Voting districts are solely for the purpose of the residency of the candidate! This is different from state elections.
Anyone wishing to file as a Write-In Candidate for the October 3, 2023 Regular Municipal Election will need to file a Letter of Intent and Declaration of Candidacy Form along with an Alaska Public Offices Commission Public Official Financial Disclosure Statement no later than Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Write-in candidacy procedures are in accordance with CBJ Code 29.07.050. Should we receive any write-in candidates, their names will be added to the list below but they will not have an optional candidate profile statement and their names will not be printed on the ballot.
